ACAP community

Chapter Platform & Digital Strategy

ACAPcommunity.org (Adult Children of Aging Parents) is a 501c3 non-profit that offers educational programs, resources, and support tailored specifically for adult children navigating the challenges of caring for their aging parents.

ACAP’s mission is personal to me. I watched my father care for his aging parents and saw firsthand how difficult it can be to find reliable guidance and community. That perspective shaped this work into more than a digital initiative — it became a way to help the organization reach more families without increasing its operational burden.

When I began working with ACAP in 2021, rapid growth exposed limits in a multi-site web model that duplicated cost, effort, and content management. I created the organization’s first unified digital strategy to support national expansion.

IMPact

Single platform architecture
Reduced ongoing site and launch costs

Chapter enablement model
Repeatable onboarding + governance

Distributed CMS & livestream training
Local ownership without technical dependency

Growth: 3 → 10 chapters nationwide

This is your strongest proof point.

WHAT I DID

  • Defined first org-wide digital strategy

  • Rebuilt IA around mission, programs, and chapters

  • Replaced multi-site model with scalable platform

  • Created chapter onboarding & support framework

  • Trained representatives on CMS and monthly livestream delivery

  • Established analytics and KPI reporting

  • Led Giving Tuesday campaign strategy

WHY IT MATTERED

This shifted ACAP from a collection of local efforts to a scalable national model for caregiver education

The platform now supports:

  • consistent program delivery

  • sponsor visibility

  • chapter growth

  • measurable engagement

  • faster access for caregivers to trusted, resources and local support

All core to a community-based, volunteer-driven organization.

Reflection

This work reinforced that sustainable impact comes from enablement, not deliverables.

By giving each chapter the tools, structure, and training to operate independently, the organization could grow without increasing central overhead.

The same principles that drive enterprise scale — governance, platforms, and clear success metrics — apply equally to mission-driven work.
